Native App UI
Enterprice Software
Redesigned the UI for a ransomware detection system used by enterprise IT teams. The goal was to simplify complex workflows and present large volumes of port-related data in a clear, actionable way. Delivered a modern interface that improved usability, visual consistency, and helped reduce data lookup time by 20%.
Background
This project involved a redesign of ADRA NDR — a security tool that helps IT teams in large organizations detect and block ransomware before it spreads across internal networks.
Originally designed five years ago, the product was being re-released as a standalone version, bundled with a specific security hardware (QuCPE).
Goal
The goal was to modernize the UI, improve clarity and consistency, and support the hardware’s go-to-market strategy by offering a stronger, easier-to-use software experience.

Role & Responsibilities
As the sole UI designer on the project, I worked closely with the product manager and front-end developers to bring the new version of ADRA NDR to life.

Challenges & Approach
Old dashboard layout made it hard to spot important insights at a glance. I restructured the content hierarchy and switched from line charts to more readable bar charts. I also added hover tooltips to surface data contextually.

Port data overload made it difficult for users to focus on what mattered. To solve this, I adjusted the layout so that the device illustration collapses slightly when users scroll, freeing up space for more visible content. Interactive hover states were added—highlighting linked data below when a specific port is hovered—allowing users to locate information faster.

Throughout the redesign, clarity and usability were the top priorities. Every design decision focused on helping users access essential data efficiently, without overwhelming them with unnecessary complexity.

Outcome & Impact
The redesigned interface has been successfully launched. Users reported a 20% improvement in the speed of retrieving time-based data on the dashboard—making threat monitoring and investigation noticeably more efficient.
This project highlighted the importance of close collaboration with developers, especially when dealing with interactions and animations. In future projects, I plan to involve the engineering team earlier in the process to align on technical feasibility, and to provide more detailed documentation for motion design to ensure smooth handoff and implementation.
